Two of the vessels used by Kosmos Energy for its final exploration programme were last week observed in Dakhla, occupied Western Sahara.
May 30, WSRW revealed that Kosmos Energy had commenced its last seismic studies offshore the occupied territory of Western Sahara.

The main ship doing the study is the BGP Prospector, owned by a subsidary of the Chinese national oil company CNPC. In addition, WSRW reported on four other supply vessels helping that mother ship for the exploration.

Videos received by WSRW shows two of those vessels spotted in Dakhla harbour last week. The two vessels are Baltimore and Flamingo.

The UN has stated that any further oil exploration in Western Sahara will be in violation of international law. Morocco will deploy the first oil rig ever in the occupied territory within 2-3 months. The rig is currently testing offshore Korea.

Morocco has occupied parts of Western Sahara since 1975, in violation of international law. Its groundless claims on the territory were rejected by the International Court of Justice.
