A group of Spanish and Saharawi protesters yesterday demonstrated against the Canary imports of sand from occupied Western Sahara in the harbour of Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
At least 18 Saharawi activists and Spanish sympathizers staged Wednesday in a protest in the waters of the fishing dock at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on October 2011 against the theft of Saharawi sand being unloaded from occupied El Aaiun and stored in facilities of the port of Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

The construction work on the controversial beach of Mogán in Gran Canary started 2 December.
