For some days, the oil platform Atwood Achiever has been anchored off Singapore harbour. Now it has departed, heading towards the occupied territory of Western Sahara.

The rig is chartered by Kosmos Energy, the US oil company which will drill in the territory in violation of international law. The company has not yet sought the consent of the people of Western Sahara to drill there.

As of 1 October 2014, it is heading up the north west coast of Malaysia.
