Report of the UN General Assembly's Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) voted on 28 October 2009 the report Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories.
The report from the UN General Assembly reaffirms the right of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories to self-determination in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and with
General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV), containing the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, as well as their right to the enjoyment of their natural resources and their right to dispose of those resources in their best interest.
The report also "Reaffirms the need to avoid any economic and other activities that adversely affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories"
